Biomedical Science student shares about her experience at the Youth ASEAN Model Conference

"In March 2025, I had the incredible opportunity to represent Malaysia at the Youth ASEAN Model Conference (YMAC) in Jakarta, Indonesia, hosted by Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH). It was a meaningful and eye-opening experience to connect with passionate youth from across ASEAN and engage in thought-provoking discussions around regional development.

As part of the Malaysian delegation, I participated in a committee focused on urban mobility, where we explored ideas to make our cities more connected, inclusive, and sustainable. It was inspiring to hear diverse perspectives from fellow ASEAN delegates and collaborate on potential solutions.

We also had the chance to visit the ASEAN Secretariat, where we gained insights into how regional policies are shaped, and explored Jakarta Smart City, which showcased how digital innovation can enhance everyday urban life.

This experience not only deepened my understanding of regional cooperation but also strengthened my passion for cross-border collaboration and youth leadership. I鈥檓 grateful for the opportunity and look forward to more chances to contribute to ASEAN鈥檚 future."
