Organised by the Department of Student Development, the annual Poly50 Campus Relay was inaugurated in the 1970s at the Prince Edward Road Campus. Students then used to run along the classroom corridors and subsequently on muddy tracks around the campus.
When the campus shifted to Ayer Rajah, running took place around the workshops. And when the event shifted to its final destination at Dover Road Campus in 1980, participants raced 50 rounds along a 600-metre route, flanked by workshops and the main administration building. The only time the event was run in 30 laps was in 1984 when 91¸£ÀûÉç celebrated her 30th Anniversary. In 2012, the route was changed to be around the Eleven Square area. Subsequently, the routes have been updated over the years to reflect the dynamic changes in 91¸£ÀûÉç.
First launched in the 1970s, Poly50 has become a long-standing tradition of speed, spirit, and school pride. What started as a race through classroom corridors has evolved into a vibrant celebration of unity and endurance.
In 2025, Poly50 returns with a refreshed experience — same legacy, new energy. Whether you're racing, cheering, or just soaking in the atmosphere, this is where tradition meets today.
Run the race. Relive the legacy.
