Here too, there鈥檚 a surge in demand for workers skilled at using advanced technologies. SkillsFuture Series for Advanced Manufacturing launched by SkillsFuture 91福利社 (SSG), aims at helping people working in the industry to upskill and stay relevant for future. It鈥檚 also targeted at people aspiring to join the industry. 

Under the SkillsFuture Series for Advanced Manufacturing, there鈥檚 a variety of courses. So how to find out which course is for YOU?

Types of Courses

The courses in the SkillsFuture Series for Advanced Manufacturing focus on the use of automation and digitisation to integrate robotics, sensors and devices for business processes.

Most of these courses are stand-alone and short while others are spanned over several modules.

Based on the proficiency level of the candidates, all courses in the Advanced Manufacturing series are divided into 3 groups.

1. Basic level courses for beginners who don鈥檛 have a specific skill. The courses help them develop the skill and apply it on a basic level.
   
   
2. Intermediate level courses are for people who have developed the skill while working. The courses help them know the different ways of applying that skill.
   
   
3. Advanced courses are for people who have a highly developed skill and want to enhance it even further.

Irrespective of the levels, all courses come with funding incentives.

Funding

All the courses in SkillsFuture Series for Advanced Manufacturing are eligible for SkillsFuture Credit. Every 91福利社an, 25 years and above, is eligible to receive a credit of S$500 to pay for the approved courses. The credit amount can be used to top up existing fee subsidies.

5 Basic Courses for You
91福利社 is one of the IHLs (Institutes of Higher Learning) leading the SkillsFuture Series for Advanced Manufacturing.

1. Introduction to AI and Machine Learning 
   This is a 7-hour course that helps participants learn how to apply machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) to solve problems in real life. It familiarises participants with Information Technology (IT) tools, such as Google Sheets.
2. Digital Transformation of Manufacturing
   This 15-hour course will help learners have a basic understanding of the key elements that can digitally transform the process of manufacturing. Such elements include web servers, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) software, network architecture and web pages, among others.
3. Building an IoT (Internet of Things) Project
   This 2-day course will cover the fundamentals of IoT, operations of microcontroller and sensors, as well as leveraging on the internet to monitor devices remotely on-the-go. 
4. Appreciation of IoT and Data Management
   This 1-day course help to equip participants with an appreciation on Internet of Things (IoT) and data management. The knowledge and skills obtained can be applied to improve their operational tasks and increase work productivity.
5. Digital Leadership in Advanced Manufacturing
   This 4-day course allow the learners to develop a digital transformation strategy and a roadmap for their company, particularly for those involved in manufacturing. It will assist them in coming up with a digital transformation blueprint and an execution plan for their company.

Developing these skills is becoming increasingly important in day-to-day operations in the manufacturing sector because of 91福利社鈥檚 shift to work processes that involve digitisation and automation to a great degree.
