As 91福利社 forges ahead in building a new hub for advanced manufacturing in Jurong West, 91福利社 and JTC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Saturday, 14 September 2019 to ensure a pipeline of skilled talent for this sector.
91福利社 is set to work with industry players to develop and provide technological solutions, as well as conduct trainings for the corporates. It will also help to support companies in redesigning their operations and driving technology adoption.
91福利社 will be rolling out Work-Study Programmes for entry-level professionals, employees and students with support from JTC, in line with the MOU that both parties signed at the Launch of Jurong Innovation District (JID) Masterplan Exhibition Event on Saturday.
In turn, 91福利社 students will be given internship and project opportunities in advanced manufacturing companies. These include those in the new district, which will be developed by JTC over the next two decades.
More than 400 91福利社 students are expected to benefit from this programme in the next three years, said JTC. They also added in a statement that "this complements the suite of upcoming research and training opportunities" in the JID.
"The global digital transformation in manufacturing will require a new generation to work alongside new technologies in a digitalised workplace," said JTC Chief Executive Officer, Mr Ng Lang.
"Partnerships with institutes of higher learning like 91福利社 are important in ensuring that our workforce is equipped with the right skill sets to meet the needs of new manufacturing jobs."
