This module aims to cultivate students in critical thinking and creative thinking skills. Based on design-led innovation methodologies, students will be equipped with basic design vocabulary and ideation techniques. Students will work with two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms and spaces as well as exploring various mediums of design expressions to gain exposure to a variety of design possibilities.

This module aims to equip students with introductory knowledge of the characteristics of materials in relation to its texture, pattern and tactile quality. This is to allow students to gain fundamental knowledge in selecting materials suitable for spatial design projects. In the context of sustainability, students will also learn to appreciate the principles of climate responsive design and its importance in sustainable spatial design. This is coupled with biophilic design where students must define its significance in creating sustainable, healthy, and productive spaces. Students will also learn to appreciate the fundamental principles of spatial structures such as durability, utility and beauty thereafter applying to their spatial design projects.

This module aims to equip students with basic manual drawing and model-making skills. These skills form the foundational tools for visual presentation so that students can create visual narratives for their design projects. Students will engage two-dimensional and three-dimensional drawings as well as models for design visualisation.

This module introduces students to the design considerations, space planning principles and building code requirements pertaining to small scale architectural developments. This module brings students through the fundamental process of how architectural ideas are translated into 3-dimensional built form. Students will learn to synthesize theorectical frameworks, technical requirements and technological applications via the design of a small scale architectural project.

Technical Studies Fundamentals (Architecture) introduces students to the technological means that architecture employs to address construction and environment issues. This module covers the technical knowledge related to building structural support system, building envelope design and building services such as drainage, sewerage, plumbing, lighting and waste management deployed in a small scale architectural development.

This module introduces students to the foundational level of computer aided software as well as graphic-based software to produce design presentation and documentation drawings. Students will also be taught fundamental digital modelling skills to enable students to create 3-dimensional representations of their studio projects.

Develop critical and analytical thinking skills, along with the ability to present your point of view with credible and relevant evidence. Enhance your knowledge and appreciation of local and global issues covered in the 17 SDGs, with a focus on the former.

Acquire the skills needed to write in clear and concise English to effectively communicate an intended message to your target audience. Apply these skills when writing for specific contexts, such as scenarios related to the SDGs.

Develop data fluency skills such as formulating questions, processing and analysing data to articulate numerical and graphical summaries. Build a simple data dashboard to generate insights and support a solution for a chosen SDG.

This module aims to help students discover their strengths, values and interests. It also supports students in making informed educational and career choices to achieve their career aspirations.

Learn the broad overview of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its societal and ethical impact on modern society. Build a simple AI model with a drag-and-drop tool and consider how the use of AI can address a chosen SDG.

Appreciate the use of both creative and computational thinking skills to solve a SDG-related problem. Apply focused and diffuse thinking , brainstorming techniques, and the four pillars of computational thinking to a chosen SDG.

This module introduces students to the design considerations, space planning principles and building code requirements pertaining to high-rise residential development projects. Simulating the design process in practice, this module brings students through the various stages, beginning with site and brief analysis to idea inception, then to the preparation of drawings for authority submissions and finally culminating in the development of spatial and architectural details. Students are expected to synthesize building code requirements, technological applications and theoretical frameworks acquired from other modules through the design of a high-rise residential project.

This module introduces students to the technological means that architecture employs to address construction and environmental issues. The first of 2 parts, this module covers the technical knowledge related to structure, drainage, sewerage, plumbing, lighting, thermal comfort and waste management deployed in a high-rise residential development. With particular focus in prefabricated systems and designing for the tropics, this module impart to students the principles of modularity as well as passive environmental strategies. Students are expected to demonstrate their appreciation for designing for sustainability, maintainability as well as manufacturing and assembly by translating their understanding into system thinking and architectural detailing.

This module equips students with intermediate computer aideded modeling and visualisation skills for architectural documentation and communication. With particular focus on Building Information Modelling (BIM), this module introduces to students the user interface, modelling tools, families, renderings and drawing layout setups found in Autodesk Revit. It also covers principles of visual composition to equip students with graphical skills to produce effective presentation materials. Students are expected to demonstrate their appreciation for integrated digital delivery by translating their learning into presentation and authority submission drawings.

Leverage digital communication to engage, inspire and impact stakeholders diligently. Learn about responsible Digital Citizenship and how you can create engaging and impactful messages through various digital platforms and tools.

Get a head start in your career with the necessary skill sets, knowledge and tools to create your very own personal brand. Learn effective strategies to set yourself apart from the competition, and put it to good use and create awareness about the SDGs.

Work in multi-disciplinary groups to apply design thinking methods, backed by research and qualitative data, to tackle local sustainable issues mapped to the SDGs. Tap into knowledge and skills learnt in CCC modules to create innovative prototypes for real-life issues faced by local communities.

This module aims to immerse students with real-world industry experience. This programme comprises a 22-week enhanced internship programme integrating a structured learning outcome which facilitates authentic learning.

This module is a progression from Design Studio I (Architecture). It provides students with the knowledge for a comprehensive practice-orientated design process. Students are expected to synthesize building code requirements, technological applications and theoretical frameworks acquired from other modules through the design of a commercial / institutional project.

This module is a progression from Technical Studies I (Architecture). It covers the technical knowledge related to structure, drainage, sewerage, waste management, plumbing, lighting and thermal comfort typically adopted in non-residential developments. Focusing on bespoke construction systems as well as active environmental strategies, this module covers architectural systems like curtain walling, adaptive facades, mechanical ventilation and cooling systems and steel constructions. Students are expected to demonstrate the understanding of sophisticated technology and its application and in the design of a sustainable architecture.

This module is a progression from Design Representation I (Architecture). It equips students with intermediate to advanced computer aideded modeling and visualisation skills for architectural documentation and communication. It covers advanced modelling skills like creating parametric adaptative components and energy analysis tools. The softwares covered in this module include Autodesk Revit, Graphicsoft ArchiCAD and Twinmotion.

This module provides students with the opportunities to acquire deeper understanding of architectural technologies through research. With fundamental understanding of technology established in Technical Studies I & II (Architecture), this module allows students to consolidate their knowledge by conducting an in-depth study of a specific architectural component where they investigate it's origins and contemporary applications. The studies will be documented as a report consisting of explanatory notes supplemented by detail and component assembly drawings.

Students select a module from a basket of Domain Specific Modules to enhance their understanding in specific areas of interests within Architecture, Interior Design and Landscape Architecture in the Built Environment. These modules further develop and build upon the foundational knowledge covered in the domain curriculum.
