This module aims to cultivate students in critical thinking and creative thinking skills. Based on design-led innovation methodologies, students will be equipped with basic design vocabulary and ideation techniques. Students will work with two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms and spaces as well as exploring various mediums of design expressions to gain exposure to a variety of design possibilities.

This module aims to equip students with introductory knowledge of the characteristics of materials in relation to its texture, pattern and tactile quality. This is to allow students to gain fundamental knowledge in selecting materials suitable for spatial design projects. In the context of sustainability, students will also learn to appreciate the principles of climate responsive design and its importance in sustainable spatial design. This is coupled with biophilic design where students must define its significance in creating sustainable, healthy, and productive spaces. Students will also learn to appreciate the fundamental principles of spatial structures such as durability, utility and beauty thereafter applying to their spatial design projects.

This module aims to equip students with basic manual drawing and model-making skills. These skills form the foundational tools for visual presentation so that students can create visual narratives for their design projects. Students will engage two-dimensional and three-dimensional drawings as well as models for design visualisation.

The Design Studio Fundamentals (Interior Design) module is designed to provide students with essential 3D spatial design skills. Students will embark on a creative journey, focusing on the user experience within enclosed spaces and designing the spatial flow through explorative processes that emphasize interior elements. They will work on projects of various scales, incorporating design-led interventions that thoughtfully consider sustainable materials suited to their designs. Through integrated projects, students will apply their skills in a holistic and engaging way, presenting their ideas with rigor.

The Technical Studies Fundamentals (Interior Design) module equips students with essential technical skills that complement their Design Studio Fundamentals projects. Students will gain foundational knowledge of enclosures, commonly used materials in interior design, and the sustainability of these materials. They are encouraged to explore materiality and construction methods through real-world interactions with spaces and objects. The user experience within enclosures forms the core focus of the module. In their Year 1 final project, students will apply their knowledge by designing, drawing, detailing, and proposing solutions that support their design studio work.

This module introduces students to the foundational level of computer aided software as well as graphic-based software to produce design presentation and documentation drawings. Students will also be taught fundamental digital modelling skills to enable students to create 3-dimensional representations of their studio projects.

Develop critical and analytical thinking skills, along with the ability to present your point of view with credible and relevant evidence. Enhance your knowledge and appreciation of local and global issues covered in the 17 SDGs, with a focus on the former.

Acquire the skills needed to write in clear and concise English to effectively communicate an intended message to your target audience. Apply these skills when writing for specific contexts, such as scenarios related to the SDGs.

Develop data fluency skills such as formulating questions, processing and analysing data to articulate numerical and graphical summaries. Build a simple data dashboard to generate insights and support a solution for a chosen SDG.

This module aims to help students discover their strengths, values and interests. It also supports students in making informed educational and career choices to achieve their career aspirations.

Learn the broad overview of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its societal and ethical impact on modern society. Build a simple AI model with a drag-and-drop tool and consider how the use of AI can address a chosen SDG.

Appreciate the use of both creative and computational thinking skills to solve a SDG-related problem. Apply focused and diffuse thinking , brainstorming techniques, and the four pillars of computational thinking to a chosen SDG.

This module investigates the issues of spatial experiences and sequences, in response to a specific context, for example in a retail and mixed-use environment. Students are required to understand the 鈥楥lient鈥� brief and do a contextual mapping and analysis to understand the existing physical constraints (including the building structures as well as socio- cultural and economic patterns). In addition, students also study concepts of branding and marketing, their strategies and understand their translation into design to develop the User Journey and spatial experiences.

This module introduces the fundamentals of construction and detailing. This includes the study of natural materials and its properties and considerations towards the designing of details and its application in an interior space. The basic understanding of the building codes and standards and its applications to interior design will also be introduced. In conjunction with their design project, students will explore and apply the craft of designing and detailing spatial elements, finishes and fixtures as part of a spatial experience.

This module emphasises on students acquiring foundational level of using computer aided software to produce orthographic drawings. Introduction to techniques in graphic based software will also be taught to students to enable them to refine visual content in their presentation. Verbal presentation techniques are also introduced and closely integrated to their Studio reviews and critiques. They are also taught the techniques of sketching, rendering, and drafting to communicate ideas. In order to develop sensitivities in creating experiential interior spaces, students are taught conventional and alternative methods in representing spaces in response to the given design studio assignments.

Leverage digital communication to engage, inspire and impact stakeholders diligently. Learn about responsible Digital Citizenship and how you can create engaging and impactful messages through various digital platforms and tools.

Get a head start in your career with the necessary skill sets, knowledge and tools to create your very own personal brand. Learn effective strategies to set yourself apart from the competition, and put it to good use and create awareness about the SDGs.

Work in multi-disciplinary groups to apply design thinking methods, backed by research and qualitative data, to tackle local sustainable issues mapped to the SDGs. Tap into knowledge and skills learnt in CCC modules to create innovative prototypes for real-life issues faced by local communities.

This module aims to immerse students with real-world industry experience. This programme comprises a 22-week enhanced internship programme integrating a structured learning outcome which facilitates authentic learning.

This module examines the issues and challenges of interior design within the context of civic and cultural environment such as work-spheres, restaurants, library, galleries etc. This includes urban spaces especially as a response to the demands of an increasingly global and technologically advanced world. Students demonstrate their accumulated knowledge and skills in their final-year projects from conceptualization to documentation for construction.

This module focuses on processed/synthetic materials as finishes for interior surfaces (floor, wall, ceiling and fixtures) as well as furniture and furnishings. Students explore and discover the effect of design poetics of materials in the conditioning of spaces. They also learn construction and detailing techniques towards enhancing consumer experiences in specific contexts, eg. residential, retail or commercial spaces.

This module develops the students鈥� working understanding of Building Information Modelling (BIM) software which is used by the building industry as well as advanced modelling and animation software. Students are also equipped with a fundamental working knowledge of advanced 3D software used for generating complex spatial manifestations in experimental design and presentation.

This module further develops the knowledge and skills of using materials and detailing techniques in interior design to respond to the complexities of new architectural designs and technologies. At the same time, students are also exposed to the importance of environment management and sustainability and they learn to refine their design and detailing skills. The advancement in lighting technology is studied and students learn their important effects on interior design. The relevant building codes and standards are also introduced when students are applying their knowledge in their design project.

Students select a module from a basket of Domain Specific Modules to enhance their understanding in specific areas of interests within Architecture, Interior Design and Landscape Architecture in the Built Environment. These modules further develop and build upon the foundational knowledge covered in the domain curriculum.
